ok now I need to replace my stolen hu

So my pioneer deh-8600mp and my phoenix gold r15 amp got stolen out of my car. Insurance is going to cover most of the costs so I'm going to buy a new head unit, I'd rather switch it up and get a new one than get the same model again. I need some help on what to get.

Obviously by seeing what head unit I had (customizable oel display) looks matter a lot in my decision (hate to say it but it's true). I do want something with great sound quality though. I am going to eventually buy my phoenix gold amp back, I have a 12" idmax v3 d4 in a sealed box i built.

Some of the head units I'm looking at are

1) Pioneer deh-p780mp

2) Alpine cda-9815 (open to other alpines since there are so many)

3) clarion DXZ865MP

4) eclipse cd5000 (idk though bc no detachable faceplate)

Another really important thing is that I listen to my ipod more than anything else, I ran my ipod off the aux input of my old deck bc I heard pioneers are really slow if you control it through the unit, I know some alpines have the same feature but idk how fast it is. Thanks for any help/advice/info. Trying to spend around 300 or less

lmao at these threads. why do people just go and get more crap instead of taking measures to prevent the theft?

anyways on the alpine the 06 models have a high speed interface for the ipod which is absolute tits. nothing else i've used has compared to it. however alpine's 06 lineup of headunits are less then savory. good units but they hardly have an processing. if you add an external processor then they are great. the pre 06 use the kca-420i interface which is all right but not as fast as the kca-422i and much more expensive. the kca-422i is only $29.99

Yeah, you need some sort of security system to prevent this from happening again. It's senseless to keep buying equipment and then have it stolen. I would start with an alarm and then worry about the system.

As far as decks go: Get the Premier 880PRS and call it a day. It has a good ipod interface and the deck itself has excellent SQ with plenty of processing capabilities.

Wanting a head unit that is as sexy as its performance is nothing to be ashamed of. I understand that you want something to compliment the interior of your ride. I personally own a 780mp and I absolutely love it. Its a beautiful head unit and the full color OEL screen is 10x as nice as the color OEL screen on the 8600. However, if you plan on running an active system, get the 880prs.

ok people i said i need a new head unit not to be made fun of or given advice to take my face plate off, you know why? because some ******* had the balls to break into my car right next to my dorm, in a crowded college parking lot where cops ride through ALL THE TIME. I do take my face plate off when needed like in a shady place, but not where I live and am surrounded by security, thanks for the actual helpful advice some of you gave me on decks

They are actually not security, they are really police officers, they are just campus police, who happen to have offices right across from the lot it got stolen from...yes I trust them.
