Oil Spill In gulf

has anyone else ever noticed that when arguments start on here, people are typing like children, then as soon as the argument escalates, everyone switches and types and acts as if they were a fuckin scholar
I AM a fuckin' scholar. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You fail. It does matter if they wanted this to happen because that was the allegation.... that they cared about profit and nothing else. Well they aren't profiting now are they? Their stocks are plummeting. They are losing the resource they make their money on, and they are out the expenses to try to cap the leak, and repair their station. OBVIOUSLY even if greed were their only motivation, they would have done anything possible to prevent this. To try to say that greed somehow would cause them to waste their precious product and waste lots of money trying to fix a disaster is just plain stupid. So you still didn't provide any sort of source because the argument you're making doesn't make any kind of sense. Also, I am very versed in history and not a single time anywhere is there anything like what you're talking about. Maybe YOU need to pick up a history book.
Their want for profits did outwiegh their care for this type of disaster. it caused them to ignore problems and continue running under less than optimal conditions and to take shortcuts. in most instance it would have been fine, but it was still a gamble and they took it. This clearly shows they are willing to do anything for profits.

Really what evidence do you have that they cut corners and ignored problems? Are you making an assumption based on an end result? It is possible that a disaster just happened. They are on a floating rig drilling 5 miles down. To say that a disaster couldn't just happen is ridiculous.

There is enough blame to pass around to everyone here. Dont be focused onto a single scapegoat. BP is responsible for something like 97% of major safety violations by an oil refiner in the US in the past 3 years (over 800 for BP, with less than 10 for every other company... 800!). So yes, clearly BP has a lot to answer for. But, so do the over seers who were suppose to keep this type of thing from happening. Clearly the EPA was asleep at the wheel, to name one.

Don't worry, they put a top hat on it, problem solved. Leave it to those brits! Probably ordered a tux for it also. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Blame. haha, I heard that the people whom own the only proven oil absorbant material, like something that eats only oil, is owned by some high profile americans, politicians. They banked on the idea that some one like BP would fail. and they aquired all these stocks during the same time BP got approval to drop that well. and cut corners doing, since they figured it was to be the deepest, and they wherent sure if most safety protcals would be suffiecient and that depth, so. BP made billions, and this spill is costing billion, and $ is to be made by our corupt americans who have the power to clean it up now, but are waiting for the big payoff. blah blah blah...
