what the difference of having your at 1 ohm then at 4 ohms. is there a sound differenece or what. any pro or cons.
Generally, you will get more power at 1 ohm than with 4 ohms, but thats if the amp is 1 ohm stable. The distortion will most likely be higher at 1 ohm then at 4 ohms as well.Originally posted by Wiked RuffRyder what the difference of having your at 1 ohm then at 4 ohms. is there a sound differenece or what. any pro or cons.
This is incorrect. As resistance decreases, distortion increases.Originally posted by 2theMaxx21
An amp that puts out 500 watts at 1 ohm will sound the same as an amp that puts out 500 watts at 4 ohms. 500 watts is 500 watts.

I agree with both....however, you will notice the difference more with amps running to mid and high range drivers than you will to subs.Originally posted by Goddyd4me true...however i doubt you would be able to hear the difference in .05%thd and .6%thd.....
