good lord. you said the HU is not working rite? thats the problem then!!! if the HU isnt working then it cant work the amp. listen to the people giving you advice. dont make people say it 10 times b4 you listen. we are all trying to help.
Exactly; if you're headunit doesn't power on, obviously the remote wire won't have a signal to tell the amp to turn on.
Since you got your amp working by jumping it, you've narrowed it down to the headunit. It's more than likely a fuse, but here is a good way to check:
Pull out your headunit and disconnect it. Now, make a short positive and negative run from your cars battery to the headunit (you can take the headunit out of the car).
Touch the positive wire from your battery to the constant +12v and the ignition wire, and your ground from the amp to the ground wire of your headunit. More than likely, the ground wire of your HU will be black, and the constant and ignition wires will be red and yellow, and probably a slightly larger gauge than the other wires.
Once you get these wires connect, power up your headunit. If that works, there is a fuse blown somewhere. If it doesn't, your ****ed.
