Ohhh Sh*t. Put battery in trunk, now radio/amp doesnt work.. PICSSSS

Alright, now im really frusterated.. I just about finished building a box, and I threw in my 2 new batcap800's, Hooked it all up, and when I hooked up the GND from the amp, there was a small spark (but the main power wire wasnt hooked up yet), and THEN I hooked up the main power wire... Now the radio, and amp don't turn on...........?.?.?.?.?.?.?.?.

oh yea, I CHECKED THE FUSE UNDER THE HOOD, AND THE 4 ON THE AMP.... ALL ARE GOOD







THIS ONE IS TESTED WITH THE POS. ON THE BATTERY, AND THE - IN THE AMP....STILL GETTING VOLTAGE... (car is off, thats why reading is low.)

Do you have a fuse box inside ur car? might want to check that as well

Did you check the fuse on your CD Player?

well as I said, it sparked when I didnt even have the main power wire up, so I dunno if that would make sence, and the amp is still getting power, just not turning on....

I don't even know if the radio has a Fuse...if so.. Sh******tty, cause this car is a ***** to take apart.

I don't even know if the radio has a Fuse...if so.. Sh******tty, cause this car is a ***** to take apart.

Mine is on the drivers side under the dash, it just has a cover over it you dont need to take anything apart.

Also you should have disconnected ur main battery before you installed it

fig 2 uses the front battery as the ground (it has its own factory/big 3 ground)

At least you will know for next time.

If the amp is getting power then its most likely an amp problem

Light on the amp does not go on... I just don't understand how the amp is still getting power though when I tested it...

Also if it's the amp...wouldn't it have popped a fuse before it fried out? Now im really scared to hook up my sub amp (not that im going to do it until I figure out exactly why this happened....and if its the amp, wouldn't the radio still turn on at least?

Radio is a Kenwood KDC-MP35U

Edit: I don't see how grounding the Batt.s could hurt though.

Double Edit: But yea, I guess I am technically doing what it says NEVER to do.

Try running it without the extra battery just to make sure it has nothing to do with that.

If that doesnt work you probably fried the amp
