i agree with ya for the most part. however, the mods are VOTED in, so in a sense, it's the people's own fault for the mods that are here.

but with the system that is in place, one can't expect much more from this place then what it already gives.

personalyl, i could stand it to go back to the way it was in 01, early 02. unmoderated. truth be told, regardless of how the mods are put into place, there will always be favoritism. it's human nature. and it happens at ALL forums, here, ssa, cso...you name it. one will eventually be able to find it. especially when the core group of posters is in their teens, early 20s. maturity just isn't there.

btw, i'm not beign a hypercrite. i'm guilty of it as well. immaturity and bias, i've done it, had it. this place needs to recognize it's shortcomings and just move on. let it ride. shit happens. wipe and flush, or dwell in it. it's up to each individual to make up their own mind.

i have a couple of questions..
1. who is the MAIN mod that handles advertising on here?

2. is it ALLOWED to put a link in your sig to your site like i have seen, even now? what if it wasnt an exact clickable link, but just a banner with your product but cant be accessed by clicking on it?

links in your sig are fine, so long as they are not advertising a product you are selling or something to that effect, links imbedded in an image, is not allowed.

2. Its not allowed according to the TOS, but if you're a friend of the mod's or you're a mod who is getting kickbacks from dealers on here with free equipment or lower prices, you can get away with just about anything.

thats not true, ask allstar, i banned him for violating the rules, and he's close friends w/ noah. you break the rules and i catch it, there will be consequences

2. ok, now i understand what the thread is all about, but what if you put a link in your sig that is INdirectly sending you to your product, like a catchy link that leads you to "info" on a product???

so long as the link does not direct you to a product or something that you directly profit from. info about a product, i'd have no problem with.

not that many left. teh immaturity of this place drives people away. the thing this place has going for it is it's name. nothing more, nothing less. it's name is perfect, and keeps bringing people in, some good, most bad.

all things being equal, this is a dead horse that's been beat on way too many times. it's not going to change. noone truly cares enough to actually start the wheels rolling. or can the mods even get together enough to affect any kind of real change.

i agree w/ ya. i tried for the last few years but all it did in the end is alienate me from the other mods and cause people to dislike me, so i've given up on being an active mod. if i see soemthing that needs deleted, i'll do it, but im not activly trying to moderate the lounge anymore. and of the 10 mods, only 3 or 4 are active here. so as for the mods getting together, not likly. i think in the backroom over the last 4 months there have been 3 posts.

to clarify, my comment was directed at the majority, not the whole. there are always exceptions to the rule, but the rule still applies nonetheless.
