when u make snacks or salad.... use celery and cabbage as much as possible, they burn more calories digesting them, then they have in them.

-celery with peanut butter.

-chicken taco's with cabbage and veggies.

-just cutting Beef outta your diet should drop a few lbs considering it stays in your intestines a while longer then chicken or fish.

-eat lots of apples and fruits.

-BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL THAT U CAN EAT.

-no eating after 6p.m.

-cut out beer from your diet, only hard alcohol.

I suggest going to a store and buying; almonds, raisons, walnuts, peanuts, and plastic baggies.

- Take all of those and mix together, making "snack bags". Take 4 of them with u for work, 2 for between breakfast and lunch and 2 for between lunch and dinner.

just remember, if u find yourself bored and wandering into the kitchen, grab a big glass of water or milk and chug it down, repeat perhaps and then see if ur still in there.

also, portions are key, u may eat healthy but pig out each time u sit down which does no good. Make your portions smaller, if u "think" your still hungry after u eat what's on ur plate, wait 20mins and see if ur still hungry, if so make a plate half the size of the last one.

Always leave 1 bite on your plate....it's a little thing but it works great.

Dont you need red meats for protien in your diet to maintain a healthy weight train?

avoid white flour eat only whole grains and limit your intake. As for meats stick to chicken breast, lean cuts of beef, turkey, beef jerky. Don't eat mayo, sub with mustard. Skim milk, low fat cheese, sugar free yogurt, limited amounts of diet soda. Egg whites are good, umm cook using olive oil. Avoid late night snacking and if u do eat late at nite have something with protein like almonds or cheese or some sliced turkey or whole grain cereal with skim milk.

we shoudl started a thread about gaining weight. lol i mean look at me

I am about as skinny as you, except you can see my ribs. My chest dents in as well.

he didnt say protien pills, and whats wrong with the shakes? They are cheaper then meat and easy to eat.
my mistake...i thought he meant pills. Protein shakes typically use synthetic or some type of processed protein source. Natural lean meat protein is much easier for the body to process. Alot of times the protein ingested with a shake takes so long to break down that it is usually pissed out before they body can process it.

Eating fat does not make you fat. Please stop perpetuating this nonsense.

Embrace the following philosophy and put it to work in your life: garbage in = garbage out. You cannot expect your body to make a positive change if you feed it stuff [things that look like food, but are only a cheap imitation of it.]

Here's another: dead food = dead bodies. Real food contains everything you need to properly utilize it. Processed food is typically dead in nutrition value, enzymes, flavor, and properties of food we don't even understand yet.

Soy is hardly a food. Unless an 85 year old Japanese woman has traditionally prepared it for you, don't eat it.

Pasteurized and homogenized dairy is a cardiotoxin.

are you talking to me...cuz i'm not saying to cut out all fat. As a matter of fact, its required in my diet plan

I'm "talking" to anyone that perpetuates the myth. You advocated lean meat...in the sense that it is better than fatty meat. You've neglected to state several very important things in regards to meat itself....

- where it comes from

- what the animal ate (which can shift the fatty acid profile consderably0

- how it's processed (if it is)

- how it's prepared

For millions of years humans ate meat raw, uncooked. We drank blood and saved organ meats for the elderly, pregnant women and young children. Liver is one of the most nutrient dense foods you can put in your body. Look it up on a nutrition chart, if you don't believe me.

Anyone care to guess the protein content (in calories) of a 6 oz cut of beef tenderloin (100% grass fed)??? {hint: aim lower than you think}

Point is, healthy animals have naturally very healthy fat which SHOULD never be avoided. It's a whole food. Fat doesn't make you fat; never has, never will.

I always pictured you fat. I dont know why. Maybe all that talk about finance with you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif every Financial Analyst I know is a fatass.

what i'm advocating is that you cannot avoid fat totally unless you are a vegetariian and excess fat is not good for you. I advocate lean meat because there is substantial amounts of fat in other things to put most average american meals way higher than normal, so lean meat is an easy way to eliminate some of this fat.

I agree with you whole heartedly, most of the bad fat we consume comes from cooking oils, fried foods, junk food. i am strictly for eating healthy, i even outlined my diet in the other fat boy thread. I don't feel that saying eating lean meat is better for you is deceiving in any way shape or form and neither does my dietician who happens to have a doctorate's degree in gastro-intestinal medicine with secondary degrees in hemotology and dietary medicine.

I think it would be better to avoid the food or meat entirely, rather than eating a leaner and "healthier" version of it. Organic "Oreos" is still a poor food choice.

Very true. However, man-made fats (-*****) are closer to plastic in nature then they are to animal-made fat.
90% of the food on the shelves in a supermarket is "junk food." It would be a better idea to avoid the supermarket, IMO.

Maybe we should just make a list of "healthy" fats so peeps can know what to eat?

1) Coconut oil (raw, unheated)

2) Ghee

3) Butter (raw, made from cows that graze on pasture grasses)

4) Lard

5) Olive oil (unfiltered, first-cold pressed in a dark colored bottle)

6) Marine oils (cod liver oil, fish oils that have been molecularly distilled)

good call on the oil...i only use good old cold pressed or expeller pressed. Chemical extraction leaves solvent residues in the oil and can be extremely unhealthy

i usually only buy my meat from Meijers and only from the fresh-cut counter. Here in my town you can watch them cut it.

Whole grain breads...not just whole wheat but whole oat or whole rye etc.

If blood sugar is an issue with you low sugar fruits include

lemon

lime

rhubarb

blueberries

strawberries

edit: i thought you said healthy foods....oh well these are still good suggestions
