**Official NBA thread**

alot of teams at the top of the playoff list are resting up. Seems like this year there is so much competition, so many great teams, it's all going to come down to resting, and strategy. If any team is not careful, they could easily be out of it real quick

Wallace has helped to increase the Cavs rebounds per game stat pretty marginally, especially in the offensive rebounds column. Not to mention their post defense stats have increased since the trade as they are now allowing fewer points in the paint than they had previously...He has been injured a bit, but with how hard that guy has played in the past and the fact that he's getting up there, it's nearly inevitable for him...i'm not saying he's playing great or anything, but adding him and Smith has helped the Cavs front end a lot. I didn't personally think he was worth the cash when he got the deal from the Bulls because statistically he has declined in nearly every stat since the championship with the Pistons. Which is why Dumars didn't pay up, he knew all too well what was happening with Wallace as Dumars is one of the best GM's out there. The Cavs really put themselves in a lock snatching that contract up...
Delonte is averaging what, 10 and 5 right now? I think that will pretty much be the cap for him in terms of career averages, he will probably pull down few more points more 12/5 or so. He just doesn't have the pure PG abilities, remember he came into this league as a SG, and he needed a strong PG to be successful at St. Joeseph, he's still hasn't been able to mold his game to play the 1 slot primarily like these NBA teams want...

Marginally? I don't know about that. I mean it should be evident their front court is stronger as far as rebouding goes in Smith and Wallace. I mean only guy who got any minutes in the front court we got rid of was Gooden, who is averaging more rebounds per game than Wallace and almost pulling down as many offensive rebounds as Wallace. Personally me, I would rather see more Anderson Varejeo than Wallace. He is pulling the same minutes and is a better offensive rebounder, states wise this year. Hell his numbers overall are better. Only thing Wallace has on him, is shot blocking.

As far as the trade goes. I like Joe Smith and West. Wally is Wally. I believe he is overrated and hasn't put up decent numbers in awhile. I actually like Gooden better than Wallace and believe Gooden was happy in Cleveland. Oh well, nothing we can do about it right now. So I can only hope Wallace plays like the old Wallace, which is dreaming really big.

About West, well he is what he is. They think he can be a PG, but like you said is more a SG and was that a college. College really don't mean shit though as there have been a shit ton of players that haven't played their natural position when they get to the NBA.

Cleveland better get their shit together soon or they will be heading home after the first round. Washington is gunning for them and now that Arenas is back they may very well beat Cleveland.

man is it me or isnt this thread the same without ice? where is the extreme detroit wing out there talking about how dominate they are against all?
Quest tries to make up for it with his spats against bigbang but its not the same. Im sure he still lurks but everytime he makes a new name he gets bant. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yeah, they do need to get their shit together, Amen to that.

I still think they can make it to the 2nd round and just because Arenas is back, don't scare me. He was with them last year and the year before and we beat them. I do believe we were better back then though. Our drive.............actually we don't seem to have any drive. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If the Warriors go, then go Warriors, lol!

Or Suns, I think they have a good shot.

The suns looked pretty good in the 4th last nite. I was pretty impressed after their collapse to Dallas on Sunday. Im just ready for the playoffs to start.

I am ready as well. Want to see the GS/Denver game first though, lol!

Go Warriors!

It must really **** to have a better record than last year and not make the playoffs this year..........if that happens and I hope it don't.

Warriors LOSE!!!!!!! Denver and Golden State are the exact same type of team, all offense except Denver has some size and rebounding in Camby, and Martin. I would take Denver over GS any day. If Melo is off, AI picks it up, Just sucks they have noone except 4 maybe 5 players, in Camby, Melo, AI, Martin, and ya I'll throw Smith in there too. After that its WAY down hill. Same could be said for GS

Like either will win a title as they are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Cleveland Cavaliers 2006-2007

- 43.5 Total RPG/12.6 ORPG/30.8 DRPG

- 92.9 points allowed per game (41 PPG in the paint)

- 4.3 blocks per game

Cleveland Cavaliers 2007-2008 - before trade

- 42.4 Total RPG/11.8 ORPG/30.6 DRPG

- 101.3 points allowed per game (48.7 PPG in the paint)

- 4.1 blocks per game

Cleveland Cavaliers 2007-2008 - after trade

- 46.6 Total RPG/15.8 ORPG/30.8 DRPG

- 98.3 points allowed per game (40.5 PPG in the paint)

- 5.8 blocks per game

pretty marginal in terms of stats...

it's not going to be just Ben Wallace's stats, it's his impact and presence, and the numbers since the trade show a pretty decent shift in the defense and in the rebounds...Wallace and Joe Smith have really added beef to that lineup and have done a better job at collapsing in the block than Gooden was doing by himself.

now I am no NBA coach, but IMO Mike Brown would be best to run Z and AV together in the starting lineup and have Smith and Ben coming off the bench. Ben and Smith worked well together on the court in Chicago and are a pretty decent combination of offense and defense. Not to mention that they are able to hang better with the opposing team's 2nd unit rather than the starters...less liability and more production...just my 2 cents...
