official info on NEW RE SUB

i was looking through the the new car audio mag today and it has the directory of all of 2005's new gear from screens to amps to subwoofers and i found my self curious about re so i licked my fingers and skimmed to find the re sections and behold the offical name of the new sub is the XMX , this sub will be coming out in an 18" and 25" the 18" will cost appox. $8000 and the 24" will cost $9000. im sorry if this info has already been released but just thought id fill in anyone who hasnt heard the official info yet. any disbeleivers go pick up the new "Car Audio" mag

i dont think any of the prices were right, or at least for most of the subs. i was quoted a much better price from RE on a set of 15' MT's

id assume that this "xmx" would be similar to the sledgeammer and the partenon... and NOT the 'new re sub' that has been all over the forums.

it says the 18 and 24 both do 5,000 watts rms and yes they are 8.9 xmax and im pretty sure this is the sub. i mean thers only been one major re sub being talked about correct>? dont u think people would of bene talnk about this sub like crazy 2 if they were 2 different ones. idk but id sure love to hit the lotto and get me a can with about 6 of these in a wall and about 6 jbl crown amps of coarse with lets say like 72 batteries //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That sub you saw IS NOT the new sub coming out from RE. The XMX has been out for a while (read, atleast a year), and (for the most part) not really intended for car use. The XMX is similar to the Adire Parthenon; flat baffle board and insane stroke. Seach for pics from CES 2004 and you'll see some; looks like it's in a fish tank //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Also, I believe realmofexcursion has some **** of the 6" XMX. Again, it is NOT the new RE sub.

Second, the prices are much higher in the directory because those are MSRP, NOT their factory direct pricing.

Gee, thats funny. You made the EXACT same thread on termpro as well. And like i said on tpro, it is NOT the sub you are thinking of. It's RE's version of the parthenon.
