I don't think its about democrat and republican and whoever thinks problems the govt has is strictly by party lines is very VERY naive. To think one man can do whatever he wants as prez without others in place to check him if they want is naive. You know why Bush didn't get alot done before 9/11? because Congress said "your ideas ****, we reject them."
Its early, we don't know how all of what Obama has planned will turn out. Stop worrying and do your part in making the country better. If you don't know what your part is well, i feel bad for you

I think I am doing my part by standing up against this spending, nationalizing of private industry, single payer health care and insane over burdensome global warming (scam) taxation. So I know what I need to do....obstruct:laugh:

Obama is trying to make everyone equal, spending way too much money and the taxing is ridiculous, his policies are garbage and so is he. Wonder why we had all those "tea parties" the other day. This country is going to go into turmoil and there will be rebellion unless he makes wiser decisions. He worries about the wrong things and after investing all this money, the DOW is only up about 150 points since his inauguration. He is just pissing money away.

Last I checked, the first 100 days are a poor indicator of a president's term in office. Bush's first 100 days, he didn't do much of shit, even though his approval rating was as high as Obama's currently is. The Columbus Dispatch did an article about the first 100 days, and his first hundred days resembles Reagan and Roosevelt more than any other president. All we need is a modern day TVA and Social Security, and he'd be another FDR.

Discussing, whether on a message board, or otherwise is what we do about it. Unhappy people group together, create PACs, and try to influence current legislators and voters. I am not sure what you want people to do? Grow a sack? I suppose one could start shooting elected representatives, but that isn't how we do business in the US. Movements are all about complaints, whether they be civil rights or deficit spending.

For those people I say stop whining and run for office. then there are others that complain that if things continue to get worse they are gonna move to another country as this one goes down the toilet. For those whiners I say get moving already. For those that say there should be a revolt against what's going on but just sit on their computer and whine on a car audio forum, i say to them stop whining and get some petitions going along with scheduling demonstrations in their towns.

I've found that most people don't appreciate how good they have it. Not all have it good, but the ones that do its like they find any little thing that's bad amongst all the good to focus on. yet these same individuals aren't willing to do anything to correct that glaring negative they spend so much mental space and energy thinking/whining about. My thing is either do something to bring change or stop wasting your life whining. Life is too short to wasted it on BS

BTW I don't think the votes for Nader woulda won the election for Gore since he only won 1 state and IIRC if he woulda won Florida (as he did, but was cheated) it wouldn't have mattered.

From my perspective, one can generate change without running for office. They can create change through various non-profit action which is far more effective than legislation. I have yet to meet anyone capable of doing well in public office actually want to be in a public office...too much red tape and invasion of privacy. Instead, they work through other means to accomplish goals.
