I ask you as well, how would you have handled it differently? I mean it's one thing to piss and moan, but it's another to actually have a solution. Being that the economy was being run into the ground BEFORE he took office, how do you handle the situation differently? Just curious.

You dont go around blowing money on programs that arent going to work. During a recession taxes are supposed to be cut, which will allow for more citizens to spend more freely. This inturn lowers interest rates, which lower inflation rates. With lower inflation rates the US $ is worth more and we have some leverage in the world financial market again.

Raising taxes by a substantial amount hurts everyone. They have less money to spend so interest and inflation rates go up and the economy goes deeper and deeper into the hole.

I dont have a solution but im just a 21 year old college student who knows there are people out there with better ideas then throwing money at the problem.

I'll relate it to something you know. If youve got sony subs, you can throw tons of money into a nice amp, enclosure, wiring, everything, but you will still have shitty sony subs in the end.

How about stop the government spending so much money they do not have?

It would have been cheaper and 100x more stimulative to give all Americans

and American businesses a tax holiday for the year (no taxes at all for 1 year).

The economy needs to bounce back before we can start to improve. Money needs to be spent in order for the economy to bounce back. The idea that things will simply stabilize without action is ignorant. Yes, spending money we don't have sucks but what other choice do we have? Should we let the banks and motor companies fail?
