Now that JL w7 have been out for a while how hard do you push those in terms of watts

not sure about better. You would have to argue with Audioholic about that since he's very set on the fact that the w7 is one of the best out there.

if you believed everything you read on here youd believe that if ported at 32hz both the w7 and anything from FI eat small children when given 1200rms. and that god touches each and every driver that leaves JL and FI. its fact!

Unless you're doubling the power, you're not going to notice that much of a difference.

Here's something that was posted over on our forum:

I've seen a lot of people asking if a 1000 watt driver can take 1200 watts. Following the formula above the different in output is a whopping 0.8 dB...which you won't hear. Going from 1500 watts to 2000 watts is a 1.2 dB difference, etc.
