With the W7 being out for a while and as a daily driver how many watts are you putting those speakers,They could easily handle 1200 watts. Many say they can handle alot of power more than recommended.People diss the speakers but to me still great speakers.

More power than the published recommendations is really not necessary for anything other than SPL competitions. You will gain very little from increasing the power on tap, but the chances of damaging the driver do increase significantly.

+1

Unless you're doubling the power, you're not going to notice that much of a difference.

Here's something that was posted over on our forum:

No sound difference. How can I state that?

Open your Windows calculator (or Mac, or Linux).

Type 750 / 500. You get 1.5 right? Now press the "log" button, you get 0.17.

Now press * 10 - you get 1.7. There is 1.7 dB difference between those two amps. A level that you'll go "I think I hear it"... Get to 3 dB and you'll know there's a volume difference, but it won't be much. Get to 8 to 10 dB and you'll hear it as twice as loud.

Bottom line, unless you're talking about a ratio of 2 or more in terms of power, it's really not an issue. Go with the smaller amp (you'll have the same sonics), save the cash, space, weight, and power draw.
I've seen a lot of people asking if a 1000 watt driver can take 1200 watts. Following the formula above the different in output is a whopping 0.8 dB...which you won't hear. Going from 1500 watts to 2000 watts is a 1.2 dB difference, etc.

10 inch can handle 750 rms on the site, but I think it can go anywhere from 500-1000, 12 inch 750-1500 possibly?? or just 1000. 13 can go from 1500 and possibly 2000. while the 8 can go probably 500.

i dont think anyone has ever questioned whether its a good driver. the issue around here is that there are alot of other products for a fraction of the price that are just as good if not better.

not sure about better. You would have to argue with Audioholic about that since he's very set on the fact that the w7 is one of the best out there.
