Now I think I have a real problem...

About a month ago, my system started making weird noises. When I'd power on/off the cd player as well as in between songs there would be bass coming from the subwoofers. Thought it was strange but let it be. A week or so later my bass started becoming very distorted and I noticed that the subs are moving lightly AT ALL TIMES when power is given to the amp.

Anyways, i always assumed either a bad ground or bad rca's. Last night, the bass stops. Pop the trunk, amp is still powered, no smoke. I figure good now I know it's the rca's. So today i grab a new set of rca's and run them and hook em up. Same thing still happens. Re-ground my ground wire. Same thing. Check turn-on and power wire and everything seems ok.

Does anyone have any clue what is going on here? A bad input maybe? How do I fix this? I was all excited to get my subs moving again this mornign just to end up twice as frustrated as before.

Also to note:

-The louder the volume knob is up, the louder noise is on turn on/off/between tracks.

-The noise is strictly from subwoofers. Not amp or alternator.

-This didn't start right on installation. Everything played perfectly for a solid 3 months before this instance occured.

-Amp is a Hifonics 1606D. CD Player is a Panasonic and ill grab model # in a bit.

Also, is there any chance it could be the SW-OUT plug from my cd player?

im thinking it is your rca outs on your radio, i would try differnt radio and if that isn't it then ya it's the inputs on the amp, so which ever is easier for you to try
This may be a very stupid question. But would any of the other "outs" from the headunit work? I have like a rear-out, cd-out, etc.

Also, if this were the problem, how would I go about fixing it.

Update: Even more problems!

Tried connection RCAs to rear-out plug from behind cd player. Worked great for about 10 seconds, clean loud bass. Pull out to take a ride and BOOM/BAM/SLAM holy shit. My subs began just slamming abo****ely insanely not to the beat or anything. Immediatly pop off my H/U to see some minor smoke bellowing up from behind my dash kit.

Get everything back in order (yanked some wires loose freaking out with the crazy bass). Plug back into my SW Output and everything is working ok for about 10 seconds and again same thing happens, crazy bass that doesnt stop til headunit is d/c. Now, when my headunit powers on/off I hear a staticy, clicking noise instead of sub noises.

I think Im just going to sell my car, this is absolutely insane. Everything has only gotten worse from what i thought was a simple rca swap out.

You fucking serious? Sell a car over a headunit? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
Edit: Nvm not surprised someone with a tcab box would say something like that. You get any pimp *** sblazer heads in your box? They add 15deebeez
uhh I dont have a TCAB box. Also, is there anything I can do to fix this problem other than selling the headunit and buying another?

Talking to the guy who said to sell the car because of the headunit.
Ah gotcha. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to repair the Subwoofer Output cords or replace them? Or do I need to sell my head unit and get another.
