Nothing from Sub after 4 years

I drive an 02 C240 Mercedes with an aftermarket head unit, amp and Sub, all Alpine. I had everything installed in the car in 2003 I believe. Recently I noticed that the "thump" in my car when I played music kept going in and out. I opened my trunk and realized my sub was laying down on top of the amp that's connected to the box, so I picked it up. Fixed the problem for a while, but now I have no bass at all.

Has my sub finally died after all these years or did something come loose while it was laying down in my trunk? I don't know much about car audio to be honest. Any suggestions on what to check would be great.

May as well be the first person to ask.

Do you have pics?

It is impossible to be able to tell if anything came loose without pictures of the amp, sub, and wiring.

Do you have a digital multi meter?

That was fast. No pics currently but I suppose I could get them. I tried to look and see if something came loose, but didn't look at extensively as I need to yet. Not sure what a multi meter is so I'm gonna go with no I don't have one. I'm a car audio newb.
