I recently got a 98 Firebird, and I'm planning on doing a stealth install, so its either gonna be a single 10" in a stealth box, or 2 8" subs in the rear speaker locations. Right now i'm kinda low on cash, so I could do:

1.) 10" Type R

2.) 2 8" Kicker midbass SSMB8 http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-SSMB8-8-MIDBASS-DRIVERS-WOOFERS-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ150020141928QQihZ005QQcategoryZ18802QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

3.) 2 6.5" ED EU700's

or any other suggestions. I listen mainly to rock, so I'm looking for an SQL setup. Whats my best bet?

2 Sound Splinter RL-i 8" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I would love to do that, since I did have a Rl-p //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, but thats $300 compared to $100 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif, and I would have to do more modifications to make them fit....

any more ideas?

I think the ED EU700's would fit nicely, I help u more but my brother hasn't gotten his system in yet (96 Firebird). He's going to be using pretty much all ED stuff. But they seem to add pretty good bass.

so do you think that having 2 ED eu700's installed would have the same effect as a single 10" sub installed with the same power (400-500 watts)?

Thanks

I personally wouldn't go with the Eu-700's, but it's a matter of personal preference for you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if there a specific reason why? do you just not like ED or have you had a bad experience with the eu-700's? Dont be shy with your hidden wisdom!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Eu-700's don't really fit in with your setup because:

1. They're not made for midbass.

2. Your midbass is already taken care of by the SSMB8s.

3. They're made specifically for bass, and your type R already takes care of that.

My suggestion is you eliminate the Eu-700's and buy a pair of components. Crystal SSC's?

I had a pair of the eu-700's. I'll never buy them again. I had to get two more sent from ed b/c the leads on the subs broke on the first two I had in the first week. Also, I was't happy w/ the output at all. Good sq, no sql. What can you expect from something that small though.

Those are his options, not what he already has.

Thank you for clearing that up. And I guess the eu-700's are no longer an option, considering the bad things I have heard about them. So I think I'm gonna go with a 10" sub. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
