Not impressed

Yeah I think I'm gonna go ported and I'm sure it'll be louder. Should I stay with a single sub setup though? It'd be cheaper to go up the production line with gcon, icon or xcon than go with a double sub setup in the long run
It's hard to say. You aren't capable of building your own enclosure? The cheapest route would be to try the DCON ported and if it isn't enough you can go from there. But if you are paying for someone to build an enclosure every time you change your setup it becomes expensive.

I can build it just don't have the tools an wanted to be able to know that it was done right. I took some carpentry classes but still

With the help of people on here I'm sure you could do it. All you really need is a jigsaw, drill, and have lowes make most of your cuts. If you do have someone build it you can tell them that you might upgrade to a GCON and have them design something that the GCON would work in as well. Would you upgrade your amp if you go with a different sub?

what kind of truck are you putting this sub in ?????, one 12 on 400rms can get plenty loud in the right enclosre trust me. just installed an exile 12d 500rms sub in a mini van and the van shakes lol

if you really want to get loud get another 12 run the boston at 2 ohms bridged for 300 wattts on each sub ported. you will really get loud

Go to home depot with a cut sheet and they will cut it all for you. Rent a router or get yourself a jigsaw and cut the speaker holes out. You don't need a ton of tools. Go ported and that Dcon will be louder... won't 'wang' but it'll be a lot better.

Ill def go with more amp with the gcon prob 800rms in that area, I think I'll stay with a single sub setup just trying to decide between icon and gcon which

I love my GCONS... I have 2 in my truck right now and they are getting 1krms each and they are very happy with that. I have 2 more waiting to go in once it warms up and I build a new box.

In the audio controls bass section I have the option for bass extend but it's not bass boost there's a whole other section for that its labeled bass boost I've got it off

Sub level all the way up and bass at 0 it gets down pretty good gain set with dmm sounds better sure it will be much better ported.

Meh you showed all the weakest points on your car flexing. My sq oriented 12 i on 480 watts and my back doors are vibrating pretty hard.
I'm not trying to showoff, and a video is a fairly useless thing to base anything on anyway. I was just showing that you don't need a ton of power just because a sub is rated at 1750 RMS. When I get done I am hoping to have less flex with the two XCONs.

I'm running a single Gcon 12" in a hatchback in a completely wrong box. About 1.2 cu ft ported. Kicker 1500.1 wired to 2 ohm, ****** is loud. Doesn't hit all the notes but I know it's the **** box. I'm fixing that soon!!

The kenwood's sub level should be all the way up, the sub level is not bass boost. Put it in a ported on a better amp putting out 600 watts and you're good to go.
not true. the sub channel is clean up to 35/35 on +1db. +3db@34/35, +5db@33/35, +7@32/35, etc, etc. if you are setting the gains for your amps with the sub control all the way up on an Excelon, do so at 28/35. however, I chose to set mine at max volume with the sub out at 0db, since the front and rear channels will not distort at any volume.
