Not hittin' ..... HELP

Alright heres the problem I have 2 s12L5's and a hifonics z1000d. My subs are in a sealed box (dont know exactly how big) but its not hittin. So do you guys think i need a bigger box or bigger amp? I would say a ported box would be a better choice. It would definately increase the output. I haven't had a chance to play with the L5's yet.
