Not happy w/ my setup (Some Pics)

Do you have rear speakers? If so, remove those to open up some fairly large holes into the cabin.Have you tried facing it forward?
I'm going to flip the box around for now since I don't intend to designing a new box anytime soon. I'll let you guys know if its any better.

Like Jacob suggested I might also pull out the 6x9's and give that a try.

At what head unit volume did you set the gains? Just because you are getting 36v doesn't mean its clean power.
I had the volume at 23/40... should it be higher? Not how to determine if i'm getting all "clean" power

Do some research so you don't burn it up at least. I don' t care if you PWN me on the web dude but when your shit fries I just keep reading the thread.
In fact i've done months and months of research. I've made this thread to get input on how to fix problems not for ignorant people like you to come give their 2cents about irrelevant things. Just to let you know i have no intention of "pwning" just let me know when you're done being a forum jackass. thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i have my sub facing the rear, port to the rear also. if i turn it around i will notice a difference? big difference, or hardly noticeable? i dont wanna do the work for nothing.

They are entirely unnecessary, when you can simply set your gains appropriately.
Bass knobs are fine, as long as you set your gains with a DMM. The bass knob will only allow you to lower what your set gain is, a bass knob cannot raise a gain setting.

I use my bass knob all the time, in case I see the police or whatever.

Good plan. Open up the cabin so the sub can breathe.

And like I stated earlier, make sure the bass knob and HU sub controls are set to max before setting the actual amp gain.

There are 2 kinds of remote knobs. 1 controls the gain regardless of the setting on the amp.

The other is dependent on the gain set on the amp. (100% on the knob is equal to the amp's setting)

I had the bass knob at max when i set them before. But for the h/u which is stock i only have treble and bass settings.

I was told to leave all these at 0 when setting the gains on my amp, that's the way it should be right?

I re-tuned my gains with a DMM and everything is good. I guess if i want more i'm just going to have to look into another 15.

p.s. i tried turning the box around but it actually sounded worse that rear firing.

thanks for all the input guys!

here's another question....

1) why did you set the amp to only give 1200w when its a 1500w (underrated) amp? the bl can handle that amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

2) did you use a 0db test tone? if so, try a -6db. ive never had a problem using -6db test tones, setting gains on sub amps.

I dont know if this has been said yet or not but that is not a bassknob for the sundown 1500d. It is a remote gain knob, meaning when the knob is turned full tilt, the amps gain is set to whatever it is physically set to on the amp, but never more.
