Yeah, i'm not too into hifonics new stuff, loved the older series when they came out. I probably should upgrade to 1/0 wiring but if i can get away with 4 ga i will. I'm cheap :/....so it's kinda been tough deciding where to go from my current bassless position. Dsc1500/aq1200/ap1500/bxi1508/kx1500.1....

To the OP, I like my amp. It doesnt really get hot, the sq is fair and it was cheap. But do not get the odd numbered 25th anniversary series like I have. The 1508 is really pretty much just a 1208. and the 1908 is basically a 1608...The 1508 that I have has the same size heatsink, fusing, etc as the 1208. It has 1 80 amp fuse, but you step up 100watts to the 1608 and you get 2 80 amp fuses. Kind of odd isnt it? If you can find it for 140 or less, I would suggest it. But I cant endorse paying much more as I feel it only does about 1100rms...Now the 1608, yes I would suggest that...but not over any of the amps you listed, AQ, DSC, Kx...etc

Jdawg, i was just planning my night out. I'm going to reinstall everything, crank it to cut-out levels and check the voltage at amp and batt and post results.

yea that would be the best next step rather then bying an amp that you may not need, try to find the factory rating on your alt also, you might just need a better batt up front or another in back, or you might have to shell out the cash for a HO alternator

Kicker didnt make a KX1500 did they? or is there a different brand with that model? because i know i'm running Kx1200.1's and the amps are pretty beast for what I paid for them...that's just my opinion though.

Yup, kx1200.1, my bad. What's the easiest way to check db's at the dash?? Bring it somewhere? Aren't there programs you can run on a laptop?

You need a TermLab mic with the laptop to do it, or some sort of other mic...TL is by far the best. but yes, call local audio shops and ask if they have a mic, and if they can DB you....chances are at least 1 shop will have a mic, should try to find one with the TL tho
