not getting the lows out of my fi q 12

Actually most subs take a while to break in the suspension before they can reach their true low end potential. A stiffer suspension means a higher Fs frequency. Once it loosens up it should be able to play lower. Your box size seems fine. I don't see that being a problem unless your ports are being obstructed or are too small. Give it a few days to break in and then see.

And if it still doesn't get low then GTFO noob. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What a sad, complete, and utter waste of life. But on a better note i have read more than enough reviews saying how disappointed people were with their Q at first, but after some break in time they couldn't be more pleased. I guess ill check back with you guys in say a few weeks? Hopefully i'll have a different opinion

i few others have had the same issue but after being forum bashed to hell they ended up conceeding that they sounded fine. Its a great sub, im just used to my XXX's and Mags.
Haha you called it on the forum bashing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Yeah, just give it time to break in. I'm kinda in the same boat except with a different subwoofer. I just installed 2 Polk SR124-DVC subwoofers powered by a Kicker SX1250.1 putting about 705watts to each and certain songs where I know the base is really low the subs just aren't there. So, I whipped out my handy dandy Polk SR manual and it says:

PRE-CONDITIONING

SR Subwoofers require a pre-conditioning period because the suspension (spiders and surround) is stiff when brand new. We recommend playing your SR Subwoofers at moderate listening levels for anywhere from 40 to 60 hours before you really crank up the volume. A pre-conditioning period helps loosen the suspension for better transient response and lower bass frequency extension.

So I haven't been pushing them too hard since I got them and am increasing little by little. But I'm not bothered really considering the fact that this setup was for SQ, not SPL. Just give it time, break them in, and check back in several weeks.
