Not getting any power for system

Setup is a 2005 Silverado ext cab, Boston SPG 555 Orion 2500D crossfire amp for highs eclipse cd5000 and Rainbow SAC 465 kick.

Last Thursday my truck battery was near dead after a night of sitting outside in freezing temps. Was about to jump it from my wife's car when I decided to give it one more shot and the truck started on its own, barely. Noticed CD player hadn't turned on but wasn't too concerned as I was rushing to work to not be late. Later same day truck wouldn't even try to start so I jumped it, CD player still not working. So off I went to the store to get a red top.

Have since realized that I am not getting power to anything, amps not turning on and cd player not turning on, yet everything else in truck works i.e. windows, dash lights etc.

Seems like a power or fuse problem. I've checked wiring visually and nothing noticeable. Checked fuses and they are fine. Checked voltage for power wire running to distro block as well as into the amps and they are reading 12V.

What gives? Any ideas?

You might try replacing the fuses if you got some spares laying around. My power fuse didnt look bad but was weak and caused my amp to go into protect one day. I dont know why your cd player isnt turning on also. Theres got to be a main spot that you have these electronics running if its just them two things that wont turn on.

yeah definitely confused on this one. Never had anything like this, especially randomly.

I have already checked all wiring and it's fine, wires are showing power is being received.

It sounds like a head unit problem tho. The amp not turning on could just mean that the radio isn't sending the signal through the remote wire. Do you have any spare head units laying around? You could try to throw one in to see if it works. If it does something in yours is definitely fried.

Replace fuses .. if your lucky its your problem .

if and when you did the jumping did you place the ground directly to you're battery ?

If you did it could have caused an electrical issue(not so lucky ). Alot ofnew cars/trucks when being jumped the ground is to go on metal chasis, not battery. There should have been a warning sticker although somtime not easily viable ,or in the owners manual ..

01Limited, I don't have any spare head units laying around. Would putting stock one back in do anything? Does that tell me anything if it works still?

lilboom, the first time the truck wouldnt start I didn't actually need to jump it. I was preparing to jump it and tried it one last time and it started on its own. cd player was not working at this time, before I needed to actually jump the car.

Well if you plug the stock one back in and it comes on then I'd almost say you fried something on your aftermarket. I know that wont tell you about the amp but I'm counting on the reason your amp is kicking on is a problem with the headunit and not with your amp, power wire, etc.

Like a dummy I forgot to check the stock fuses as I was so focused on checking the amp/cd player/inline fuses. Pulled the radio and radio amp fuse out from under hood fuse box today and when i stuck the radio fuse back in my door chime started working. this struck me as odd since the door chime is tied into the radio. Turned car on and after a short delay radio came right on as well as amps.

Weird but thankfully fixed.
