Who has a Silverado... Roof vibrates horribly with single 12"

I was running a diamond audio d3 in a 1cuft sealed box and finally pulled that and made a new box 2.2cuft ported box tuned to 33hz for my Tarantula T5. I don't even need to have the volume up that much and all I keep hearing is my **** roof vibrating. I don't ever remember hearing it with my Diamond audio single 12 or even two 12's at one point when I was running them. Besides sound deadening would all this extra noise be from the way it is ported? Sub is facing up and port out the pass side right at the door.

Anyone else with a silvy or sierra have this issue?

Yes, those chevy roofs go nuts. I broke all the cross braces in my 98 ext cab silverado. And every customer w/ 2000+ ext cab silverado's that I put single 10's in under the seat complain about the roof.

A little deadening solves it. ~10sq ft up their make a world of difference.

I'll trade you the van for your blazer.

Also, I have been rethinking my old 1-10" design for those trucks. Pretty sure I have a better design on the drawing board //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have 2 TREO SSi12.22's in a ported box and 1150 watts between them in my 2000 Ext cab Sierra and I have 0 issues w/my roof. FWIW I was hitting in the low 140's. My set up has sense changed to SQ from the SQ/SPL format. Out of all the installs I've done in my truck (~10 different set ups) I've never had any issues w/my roof.

How much u need to cover the roof of an extended cab Titan? Past half volume that's all I can hear in my truck is the roof. Don't even bother trying to turn it up thinking ppl can hear it outside the truck. Even windows down it's all roof rattle. Is the dyna matt extreem anygood, the local guy has some of that.

if you guys are putting in big systems pull ur seats out get a drop cloth cover the carpet and plastic pannels. now spray glue to the roof then stick fiberglass mat up there and resin. it is the only way! mat quiets but wont stop you from cracking ur roof...

Three layers of deadener is an instant and permanent fix to this issue. Worked on both of my Silverados.

Obviously you haven't used stout enough, or enough layers of deadener. I can punch my roof and not so much as move it. I'll have no issues with it breaking from the subs.
