(not closed) Skar Audio LP-1000.1D Clamp Test Video

Do you know what impedance the driver was at 40Hz in free air at room temperature?
Yes. Did you watch the video or read the thread?

OK, I'll post this again for the benefit of kids who showed up to the party late and couldn't be bothered to read the thread, or still don't understand the application of Ohm's law.

E = IR

To change this to solve for R divide both sides by I hence:

R = E/I

If his measured numbers are appx 40V and 10A we have

R = 40/10

OR R = 4

We can repeat this test by pausing the video at any point and throwing the I and E measurements into the formula..... each will come up with right around 4 ohms.

The absolute best thing is that when some other ****** brand begins using this same board half the shitposters on this thread will be falling over themselves telling people how great it is.

That's funny. For some reason I didn't see the impedance plot. Care to show me please?

Cut the attitude and control your ego a bit.

lawls

kevin must have hooked him up with free stuff to have some friends on his side. But there is an obvious truth behind Kevin and his lack of knowledge and its getting made public. Hes got money to order product but he doesnt know anything about it besides calling up china and saying i want this.

I give this Kevin guy an E for effort. Certainly nothing wrong with plugging your product, especially in this world of social networking and all. A small investment on a frequency generator, power resistor and good quality measuring tools would go far.

Ok. Back to Ohm's Law.

Law implying that is accepted scientific fact and has yet to be disproven.

Ohm's Law states that Voltage equals current multiplied by resistance. Algebraically we can rearrange that to show that current equals voltage divided by resistance, or resistance equals voltage divided by current.

SO given that you can see voltage and current measurements by pausing the video pretty much anywhere when he's giving power to the sub, you can divide the voltage reading by the current reading to show you impedance. What the impedance of the sub looks like at any other frequency is irrelevant to how much power that amp makes at 1, 2, or 4 ohms. Whatever the impedance curve of the sub looks like I can guarantee it's very close to 4 ohms @ 40hz after watching this video.

What's funny is a bunch of kids looking like fools trying to trash Kevin's product. I don't know him and wouldn't use his products, but this **** is getting old and this thread is absurd in people's failure in basic math and electronics.

2000lade was just trying to prove that kevin knows nothing about his product. Nothing about ohms law. And that's it. End of story.
WRONG. People on this thread were claiming that the amp doesn't make rated power and is poor quality and proved their own ignorance of Ohm's law in the process.

Not for nuthin... but I doubt there's much of a "plot" in free air like that. Looked pretty close to 4 ohms throughout.

hispls has some good points; however grumpy they may be. Lol.

I couldn't care less about the amp, but like I said... very little relevant information. It's quite a showcase on how NOT to test an amp or represent yourself as a car audio company owner though.

Some people make this fine hobby of ours look like rocket science. Is it really that hard to not make a fool out of yourself? Skar has shown to make some nice stuff so get off the guys ****. You give the guy more customers when you try to trash him.
