ok, i just recently put a kicker 100si (oldskool) amp 225 RMS up to a 15 inch kicker impulse (also oldskool) in my 01 camaro.........WEll,,,i sold all the old stuff and just bought or fixin to buy a Hifonics 1605D amp and hook it up to a 15" L7........

I'm kinda excited about the new setup and was wondering.......is the new setup versus what i had gonna be a HUGE difference......like night and day........I was just curious,,like i said im new to this

Okay - 700 or 800 watts then.

Still a very distinct difference over your previous setup provided you stuff that L7 in an appropriate enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oops,,,,,,,,it is a dual 2 ohm.......can someone give me a link explaining how to hook up the speaker at 1 ohm.........i dont understand the ohm thing or how to hook a sub up at 1 ohm

Here ya go, bow. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh wow thats complicating...lol........appreciate it...........Another dumb question....?

I see on new speakers,,,,,remember my shit was old,,,,,,,,,,,,the speaker wire hook up looks almost like a rca cable hook up........my old stuff had where u just hooked up the speaker wire to a metal post...............Anyways,,,what kind of speaker wire do i need to hook this up

10awg, 12awg, or 14awg should be appropriate for that kinda of wattage going to a 15" L7.

That diagram really isn't near so complicated as it looks at first.

Since you know you have a Dual 2 Ohm sub to wire it to a 1 Ohm load all you need to do is make certain that both positive voice coil inputs are wired to the positive output on your amp and then likewise for the negative coil inputs both being wired to the negative output on your amp.

yea i was being sarcastic.................as far as the wire im not talking about the size ,,,im talking about how it hooks to the speaker......the speaker wire hook up on the sub looks like a rca cable hook up.........

What year-model L7 are we talking about? (it will be the first two numbers in the model number on the magnet)

They look like this?

If so you push the terminal down, shove the wire in the hole (found below the push terminal), then release the terminal and the resultant spring-loaded pressure will keep the wire secure.
