yeah it should shut off, it will turn on after a while. what it is is over voltage protection, so it shuts off at a certain voltage so it does not over charge i believe. everything should work fine from here on out for ya, happy i could help, and get some more wire length, and make all the wires and everything look neat. stay bumpin
