No Sound

Hi me again. I hooked up the cap and turned the car on, and the digital reading was reading 9.17- 9.00 Vdc I think.. But there was no sound. My amps were powered up and i have no idea whats wrong now lol.. Not cool. Now the cap is reading 0.00. Anyone know what could be wrong? Yes all my wires are in and yes i know 'I don't need a cap' . Thanks

Well i hooked up everything so that the last thing to be hooked up was the cap, so it was all hooked up when i turned the car on... but i did let it sit there on for about 30 mintes - an hour.

It was late lastnight I'm going to by pass the cap, to see if it still works, it should i didn't really change anything in the wiring of my speakers..

I have 4awg for my battery wire going into the cap, then out of the cap into the fuses, then 8awg going to the amps.

Well here's a couple picutres and a video of what happens when i start it up.

This is the video link.. After download play in windows media player for some reason it crashed my comp when i played with nero. Now that i think about it is 9V's way to much? Maybe thats why it's flashing. Could it be because of the Fuse between the battery and the cap?

when i bypassed the cap.. everything worked fine...

I noticed on my amp.. the MRV - T757 The 3 lights when the Cap is on : Protection - Green, Music - Green , Power - Red... When bypassed everything is green.. I'm checking the usermanual what it means when it's red. I bought this second hand off my cousin so i have to check the net and hope they have it.

Question : Should I wire it to the Battery Direct Terminal (thats where i have had it all this time) Or to the Battery Terminal when i have the cap in? That might be the problem? With battery Direct it bypasses internal fuses and what not..

Hmmm.. I checked the User Manual a Solid Red light means. Blown Fuse, poor battery connection, etc. Well after bypassing the cap and it works it's not a blown fuse. So it is a poor battery connection.

Decipha so what you're saying is that the cap isn't holding enough charge to send out to the amps? because it's only getting 9 volts? Is there a way to change that? Does it have to do with my car? or.. am i giving it the toss on ebay? I really don't want to toss it out.

I guess no one knows.. or nothing can be done. Well atleast i know the problem... When i by passed i also checked how much voltage i was using and it was 14.5vdc... thanks tho.. much help

do you remember if you charged the cap first, if you didnt that could be why the voltage is so low across the cap. if the voltage is that low, your amp will go right into protect mode, due to a to low of voltage. if you did charge your cap first, then there is something wrong with your connections to the cap or somewhere in between. but if you are getting 14 volts with it wired up without the cap, then you did something wrong when hooking the cap up. most likely didnt charge it.

Well black funny you should ask. i have been searching the forums 'capacitor charging' because i hope, and it seems i'm not the only one with this problem. I have drained the capacitor from any voltage it had when i installed it and turned it on (it read something like 1.3vdc.. i put a wire between the terminals with the resistor now it reads 0 vdc. Now to charge it.. i am stumped i read all the other topics but none really make sense.... considering i had a friend (who moved away) install my system this 'under-hood fuse' people talk about is confusing me. there is a fuse under my hood.. atelast i think it is. i bought one of those 2000w raptor install kits and i'm pretty sure it came with one...

Could u lend a hand?
