Hi I was wondering if there is such a thing to convert speaker signal to a remote signal. A friend of me told me he had seen some one do it but did not remember what it was called. He said it looke like a high to low converter but with no rca.

Thank you for your help in advance

You are looking to create a remote turn on signal from the speakers?

seems alot easier to attach your remote lead to the accessory power wire going to the headunit. Therefore the wire will have 12V whenever the headunit is on.

Close; it would have 12v whenever the key is on, not necessarily whenever the head unit is on. Some vehicles don't have accessory wires behind the factory head unit.

Here's the device you're looking for.

Yes, although the amplifier would then be controlled by your key switch instead of the head unit turning on and off. That means if you're driving and turn off your radio, the amplifier will stay on. Occasionally this causes a hum in the speakers when the radio is off, but normally there's no problem with this setup.
