I am not anti-union but at times like this the Unions will have the workers cut-off their nose despite their face and this is exactly the same as what the auto unions were doing, striking and holding out for more money. Sometimes the companies are greedy and don't want to pay, other times they are unable to pay more. At some point the workers need to say "oh **** this is serious" and go go back to work. I would rather not receive a raise then have no job.

Yes sir! The only reason the auto companies didn't default was because of free money (bailout) from the government. But the same thing would have happened to the auto companies that happened to Hostess. Hope all is well Mr. Bunny!

About 10 hours but Lindsey has been wanting to visit there for a while now so let me know and we could probably make the trip!

The employees (union) were asked to take a temporary 8% pay cut until next year when Hostess would give them back 4% of it then 1% the following year....So it was going to be 3% pay cut after 2 years and Hostess was going to give them a 25% partnership in the company as well........I personally would have taken the deal.....A job with a smaller paycheck is better than no job.........

i agree . same kind athing happened with GM i lived near it and would see and hear of people punching the clock and sitting in the bar all day . they all want more and more pay and dont care it the bussiness goes under and the country suffers in the long run

I work right across from a factory that has been on strike, those people have been coming in and buy a crap ton of beer....this happens to Hostess all the time, they will file bankruptcy and restructure and be back up and running soon.

Theres more than just an 8% paycut involved, Hostess owed the employees $ that the employees were promised after the last strike and their healthcare would go up significantly....I have been talking with the strikers on a daily basis for over a week now.

I wouldn't say that. While that is an old stereotype of the factory worker, in truth it is typically further from the truth in today's world.
