No low for speakers, all bass for sub

The low on my radio controls both the sub and the speakers, ex. -10 low means absolutely no bass at all while +10 low the sub and the speakers produce bass to which the speakers start to crackle.

How do I get the bass/lower sounds to be produced by only the sub?

your headunit should have some sort of built in high pass filter (HPF). this will cut off anything for your speakers, generally at 80Hz. check the manual

also, don't screw around with the bass knob on the headunit. turning up the bass means possibly sending a clipping signal which can harm your subs

this. try to keep everything at zero.

Is there no sub-out? It would allow for separate subwoofer control.

Aftermarket H/U or stock?

first things first- explain your system...... is it all stock, stock hu with loc sending signal to rcas for an aftermarket amp/sub, high level inputs to an aftermarket amp? aftermarket hu/amp/sub? mid amp, too? full aftermarket?....cannot tell you anything without knowing what you have. one thing for sure, you know where the max bass(low) level setting is on the hu.....

Sony xplode head unit, xplode rear speakers, xplode amp, dual subs. Only thing stock is the two front door speakers. I have yet to attempt any thing as i have been busy
