No electrical upgrades?

well as most of you already know i've recently upgraded my amp from a Kicker 2500 to an Autotek mm4000.

My electrical is stock 170 amp alt,original battery and 0 guage knu flex.

question is what effect does more batteries and bigger alt have on big amps performance wise? more/harder bass?

In most cases a more steady voltage therefore keeping the amps from clipping from low voltage and a direct result would obviously be more watts coming out of the amp if you voltage is kept steady at 14.1 etc.

Wow..its not about getting better bass..well technically it is..but its more about not frying shit. 4k watts on stock electrical = most likely will burn something up because voltage dropping too low. You want it to stay above 12 at all times (atleast thats my minimum) preferably in the 13s-14s and i doubt thats happening with 4k watts on stock electrical. If u cant get a new alt atleast get a better battery and an extra or 2 in the back. Big 3 too if you havent done it. From what ive heard for example..Kinetik batterys you want the model number for your watts..so 4k watts youd want like 2x HC2000s.. But you also have the other electricals in your car..so youd need slightly more. But more batterys means nothing if your alt cant push them.

those upgrades will allow u to keep your amp

but really, big 3 and AT LEAST a 2400 kinetik (should be 2 technically) but start with one and see what happens, and as already stated, make sure your voltage doesnt see under 12. not too much money too invest and it will save u in the long run from a lot of headaches. i had a 200 amp alt, 1 run of 0 gauge, 2 2400s in the rear to a memphis 4000 and old school us amps 100 and didnt see under 13
