Nice try Best Buy

exactly. back then, circuit city ONLY soldered. every single electrical connection had to be soldered.
But with any chain store, you're going to get people who do amazing installs, some who do decent installs, and some who have no business being in the bay.

You just want to find someone who doesn't ****.

and yeah, I'm an autotech also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif However, there ARE some great guys that work for this company. The autotech section of best buy's employee forum is leaps and bounds ahead of this one, in terms of 12volt technical info.

and btw, breaking something in a car without informing the customer, or trying to conceal it, is supposed to be grounds for termination.
I'm not a fan of solder on ignition wires, prefer to split, wrap and tie, but if I am paying someone to do something and they T-tap ignition wires, I'm walking out. Other stuff I don't care about. I have an 8 year old alarm install with taps on some superficial wires. None have failed. I have seen them pop off of ignition wires after a few hours, or less.

Unfortunate I have seen people get away with crap they should have been fired for. Whatcha know about a ****er drilling through a brake line and trying to cover it up? Mistakes can be made. Id think we have all done something minor but being honest and rectifying is the ONLY way to do it.

Policies about damage are whatever but covering it up should equate to a tool box in the parking lot. I understand you need employees and hiring isn't easy but in this economy there are people begging for work and I'd be willing to bet in any given area there is a competent installer unemployed or underemployed.

especially a wire that looks like an rca. id hope they would know what it looks like. Daniel id throw a fit make them refund 100% obviously they knew they messed it up and then tried to pass it off as you brought it in broke. i hate best buy i bought a laptop frim them and they didnt add my warrenty right so when my comp broke they told me i SOL.
yeah im going back in tomorrow to have them fix the alarm. It doesnt go off when a door is opened, and the sensors must be put in terrible locations cause the shock doesnt go off even if you slam the door. pretty much all it does is blink a blue dot right now when its armed:crap:
