Used in good to great condition, I'd say in the $35-75 each range since they were available for $100 each new.

He might have bought them brand new from a local dealer. If that's the case, then they very well could have cost him that much. But, being used, and selling for $100 each new from internet retailers, they wouldn't be worth much.

I've never heard the older Alpine ZR's, so I can't give an honest comparison. Hopefully someone can chime in.
