Nice decent sound without subs?

Looking to get a nice clean sound(Tight Budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif) in my truck without subs. I want to keep the space under my seats so I will not do any subs for now. Was looking at going with an Active two-way and since this is the first time that I will attempt to piece this together, I wanted to know what you consider as a good two-way front stage.

Speaker Budget: $150 total

I don't have a clue on what tweets to get. I only know that the dash currently holds 2" tweets.

So far I'm looking at the following 6.5s for the door:

The 6.5 CVT is a subwoofer but capable of playing as a mid.

ok so its limited at mid range. Which is why I'm asking for feedback? Know of any other 6.5 mid-bass speakers I can compare? I orginally was going to put the CVTs in my back door and then run 2-ways up front, but I've changed my mind once again.

Yeah. I'm going to get an amp too but first I need to figure out what speakers I'm running. Plus I need to find a decent double din H/U.

This is going in a Titan by the way. There is plenty of mounting space upfront without mods.

Ok. After more research, I've come up with the following:

I need a 6.5 speaker that can cross into both mid bass and mid range territory. This will ensure a good blend with the highs and should work for an active 2-way.

The CVT is out due that it caps at 350hz.

The Mach 6.5M series seems to be a good mid-bass type speaker but lacks a tad in the mid range. Seems to be perfect for 3-way.

The Peerless seems to have that range I'm looking for...58-2500hz.

Now I'm not sure but I have narrowed it down to the two. Heres the combinations that I am considering now for my set-up:

1.

Mach 6.5M $72(2) shipped and the Peerless 830970 2" Full Range $43.81 (2) shipped......This combination should give me a good blend and the peerless should be able to help out in the mid range area. This would be similar to the current sound set-up of the Titan's factory front stage. $115 total

2.

Peerless 831870 $46.16 (2) shipped and the Seas 27TFFNC/G (H1396) 1" $72.61 (2) shipped....This combination should work as well. Since the Peerless covers both mid-bass and mid-range frequencies fairly well, I figured a true tweeter should be fine. $118.77 total

I did. Sorry I didn't resond to those. If I were going with subs they would surely be in the running as well. I'm looking to put alittle more power to the mids so basicly power handling ruled them out.

You are gonna need an active crossover and a 4channel amp, or 2 two channel amps.

Maybe active isn't best suited for you and your 150$, unless the 150 is for drivers only.

You are gonna have to cross over any mid woofer if you plan on running large amounts of power to them and that defeats the purpose of having a mid that will get down low.

You may just want to invest in a small sub that is easily hidden under a seat or behind it.
