Hi all,

So do to money constraints have been building my system up gradually over the past year and a half. Right now I Am happy with it however, I am wanting a little more thumping bass. Currently when system is at low volume ( maybe normal everyday listening level) there is not a lot of bass. The bass really thumps and shines when volume starts to get about 2/3 of the way up ( but this is not more normal listening level all the time. I am hoping by adding another subwoofer it will help the low end and also kick more A** at the top end. I have never heard a system with two subwoofers installed. So anyways here is my setup so far. I have a Rockford Fosgate 50x4 amp feeding front components and two rear speakers. I have JVC KS-AX4302 amp ( 100x2 bridged) 200 watt feeding a Bazooka 12" subwoofer in an enclosure. Now the input I need is best option for a second 12" subwoofer. I am not an audiophile so system doesn't need to be perfect, just wondering on a budget which is best way to go. My thoughts are to just buy another amp and another subwoofer and get another enclosure for it. Also, do I have to match the same exact subwoofer or can it be a different brand. Also, on the amp does it have to be the same wattage or can I drive one with 150 amps and the other with 200 amps. Or would just keeping the amps I have now and reconfiguring ( use rockford for both subs and JVC for speakers) create more bass. Although this would drive two subs with 100 watts each versus the other way which would be approx. 200 watts per sub. Any input would be greatly appreciated. THx

Honestly right now 200 watts wont get you better thump in your bass as it is currently low level power.

To get more bass you will have to start upgrading to 300-500 watts. If not keep the same sub you have now and buy another just like it, but get a builder to build a custom ported box which WILL get you better bass on the low freq and might up the louder volume by 15%.

As for your amp, do you know what the optimal/recommended watts rms is for your sub?

You maybe under powering it, but without the exact bazooka model i couldnt say.

If it is under powered then just a second bazooka with a bigger amp producing more watts would do the trick.

I usually try and keep the subs the same because if you have one sub that does 300 watts and the other does 600 watts its useless to under power one.

Also it cost more and wastes more space to add a second amp if it honestly isnt needed.

I know the 12" bazooka I have the rating of it w a s 250 watts so I am currently feeding it 200 watts. So are you saying if I add another 12" sub with another 200 watt amp I wouldn't increase my bass volume and thump. I would be running 400 watts off bass.
