I have been interested in putting a nicer stereo system in my old 98 Chevy Silverado. I have been reading tons on the internet and am feeling overwhelmed.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif I do not want anything to fancy or expensive just something that sounds nice and i can turn up pretty loud every once in a while. I am planning to do the install on my own and have some experience with wiring but have never done any in a car. I am not even sure what size my stock head unit is but i am thinking either a double or 1.5 din. If someone could point me in the right direction or any help is greatly appreciated.

If your trying to get loud off the deck its not gonna happen. I would suggest a decent hu with 2-3 sets of preouts (kenwood comes to mind), a decent set of comps up front ran by a decent amp with the back speakers on the hu. also a nice 10 in there and your good.
