Hey guys...Steve from NY here. First post, so here goes....
I am recycling some of my old system from my 2000 Camaro SS.
I am into rock, metal, jazz, funk, etc....Not going to be playing rap and that type of music..I am looking for sound quality vs SPL. I prefer my subs at 80, not 50 etc...tight and percussive.
This is what I am working with: Being installed in a 2004 Chevy Astro Van
Pioneer DEH-P8400BH head unit
PPI PCX 480 for door and rear speakers
PPI PCX 2200 for the subs
2x10 Q Logic sealed cabinet with OLD SCHOOL round Solo Barics
I did the big 3 the other day, and I am kind of set of getting two sets of Alpine SPR-60C 6.5 component speakers for the front and rear doors. They seam to be the best bang for the buck since I can get them new for under 280 for both pairs.
So, I am looking for suggestions on if I will need a cap, if 4 guage power cable is good, and any specific brand of RCA's I should get. I don't do Monster due to being crap products with lifetime warranties...LOL
I didn't need a cap in my Camaro with the same setup with different front and rear speakers(JL and Mmats).
Should I get any type of new enclosure for the front and rear doors??? Or just mat them...
The system was crystal clear in my Camaro, but this is a completely different environment they are going into. The van is a passenger van, not a bare cargo van.
What say you, stereo gurus????
Looking forward to your responses....
Steve
