I apologize in advance for my ignorance.....

I'll be purchasing a 2009 or 2010 Civic EX Coupe. I know they have the factory amp/sub, but I'm guessing its not near top of the line. I'm not looking to blow out my windows, but just having something in there that sounds good when I turn it up loud.

Any experience on replacement of the factory subs in this generation civic coupes? Is replacing the amp necessary? Is it easy to do? Any suggestions as to which equipment would be good replacements?

I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I'd recommend a civic forum for the amp location

And its complicated if you replace the amp, you'll need a new sub

if you have a new sub you better put it into a better enclosure

then the stock. Stock speakers are easy to replace but i'd hate to

do it on a new car because those door panels are pretty fragile

and if the speakers are already amplified then it makes your job

a tad easier.

and thats as helpful as i get //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks, I didn't intend on replacing the inner speakers as I know what a pain that is. I didnt intend on replacing the amp either, unless I had to, for the sub.

Obviously the new sub would need a new box, but is it as easy as just switching out the sub and the box, or would that mess with the whole system?

Thanks.
