Newbie...Audiocontrol EQX or EQS?

Newbie here, Having trouble deciding b/w Audiocontrol EQX and EQS. I have a BOSE system that I ripped out except for the hu. So now I have 3 sets of low level outputs. F,R,Sub. Components in the doors, coax in rear door, pair of subs. 1 4 channel amp, 1 sub amp. I know I need the eq, the systems not sounding just right, too much highs, but I am using the amps XOvers.

Is it better to get the EQX and use that XO so I have a little more control? or just use the amps xo and get the EQS?

Also, the EQX manual says to use fullrange out to rear speakers, and the highrange out to the fronts? Would this be right even though my components have a passive xo?
