Newb: What kind of subs?

I am kinda new at this, put in my old system (comparable to a high-schoolers). I am now looking into putting a new system in my new 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. I have a budget of close to $2,000. Thats with subs, speakers, component speakers, 2 amps, and possibly a EQ. I am looking for some subs that could be for a show but also hit hard with hip hop music, and also brings out the boom! I was looking at Audiobahn for the Amps, any can tell me of a high quality amps and subs?

dont go audiobahn for any of your new system components.

check out Resonant Engineering, Adire, Sound Splinter, Image Dynamics, Memphis, JL audio, elemental designs, diamond audio, ascendant audio, stereo integrity, and soem of the mainstream brands youre probably more familiar with like kicker, fosgate, eclipse, alpine, etc. for subs..

for amps look at:

hifonics, mtx, profile, directed, pioneer, jbl, etc. if you are running slim on your budget for the amp..

or:

tru tech, zapco, cadence, US amps, linear power, diamond, memphis, phoenix gold, kicker, etc.. if you still have good money left.

im selling a brand new hifonics bx2200d 2200rms@1ohm would be good if u got 2 12s that are dual 4ohm and def go with a vented box im selling one also a subzone there new z series 1.5 cubes per chamber tuned to 38hz its a nice lookin box.

i own a audiobahn apb12t, 2 12"s in a bandpass that looks good. i run it with an audiobahn A800T, lotsa bass. rockford fosgate power 551x run 2 4x6 dash, 2 rockford fosgate 6.5's front doors, 2 phoenix gold 6.5 tantrums back doors, stinger pro 1.0 fared cap for sub amp. all under $2,000. sounds great. its all in a 95 blazer, simular speaker spaces. good luck. oops rockford fosgate 9220G head unit. mp3 and all that, no dvd

I've been hearing a LOT of good things about the Soundsplinter RL-p subwoofers. You can nab a pair of 12" RL-p's from Soundsplinter for $438. To power those puppies, I'd look into a NiNe.1 amplifier from Elemental Designs for $350. As for components, I would certainly check out the Diamond Audio HEX packages. They're running about $300 on eBay right now. For power, I would turn to Elemental Designs again and go with a NiNe.2 to push your components. If you buy it this week, they knock $40 off the price (originally $215, $175 right now). That right there puts you at about $1,300 for a **** nice setup.
