Just wondering..if there are any differences between the cda8445/cda8455 (last year model) and the cd5000 (2006 model)? They look pretty simlar to me

Does The newer model comes with new options or what?

i just wana know because i was looking through ebay and crutchfield..thinking to myself if i should get this year model (from crutchfield for $550) or stick with last year model (from ebay for $300)?

i need feedback for those who have experience with both model

The new CD5000 is pretty much a CD8445, except it has the the capability to have an extra AUX input, control an extra CD changer, and of course the 5000 is iPOD ready ( with the iP-106 adapter $120 ). Also they updated the nobs on the CD5000's to have a more tacticle feel.

And I happen to love the look of the new Eclipse units. They do look horrible in pictures but look pretty sweet in person. The adjust illumination colors are awesome aswell.

Does anybody own a CD5000 yet? I want to see some better pics than just those offered on Crutchfield.

I'm thinking about upgrading from a 9835 and there are a few things holding me back. I'm sure the SQ will be better on the Eclipse, but I still love my Biolite display and all the little features the Alpine has (fully-adjustable time alignment, nicer crossover settings, etc.)

Obviously, I could step up to the CD7000 or current 8455 for the same (plus some more) sound controls as my current Alpine, but that Biolite is just too nice...

CD7000 has a different display from looking at the brochure. Outside of the 5 volt output, very similar to the 8455.

i believe the only difference between the 8455 and the CD7000 is that the CD7000 now has a 1 band PEQ for the sub. everything else is the same besides looks.

From my experience, Crutchfield has better images as soon as they get on in their hands and get a chance to snap pictures. Sometimes they put up owners manuals they will scan themselves.

Right off crutchfield's site:

Looking for complete performance control?

Eclipse CD7000

For $150 more, the Eclipse CD7000 and get:

• SRS Circle Surround II

• Eclipse DSP with 7-band parametric EQ and time alignment

• SRS TruBass

• a full-color, high-definition Organic EL display
