New to Car Audio scene need some advice

Hello everyone I am new to the car audio scene with a few questions. I am looking to add 4 more speakers to my Jeep wrangler. As it stands it already has 5 speakers: 2 in dash 2 overhead and a "sub" in the center console. I have an upgraded head unit in there already.

A few questions I have:

Is there anyway to attach these speakers without using amplifiers? I want to add 2 more to the front and 2 more to the rear.I'm not looking to be heard a mile away I just need the audio system louder for when I'm driving with the top down and doors off. From what I was reading it will up the resistance and my head unit is only rated at 50 watts which is the max and not RMS. The reason I want to avoid the amps is I live in NYC and park in the street with a soft top so they will more than likely get stolen eventually.

If I do have to go with an amp can anyone recommend a decently priced one (maybe under $100 used)? I don't want it to be visible so it will have to fit under my seat so the smaller the better. Are there any 4 channel amps small enough to hide in the dash? Also is it recommended that I run all my speakers to an amp(s) or can I leave the exisiting speakers attached to the head unit and just run the new ones off an amp? I am not interested in a subwoofer currently as it will eat up all the space I have in the back as well as attract more attention from the thieves.

I am not looking to spend a lot of money as I am assuming it's only a matter of time before they get stolen and will have to be replaced. Unfortunately it's a fact of life living in NYC. I appreciate any help or suggestions you may have.

Instead of doing that just amp the ones you have. To many speakers is not always a good thing

Amping the ones you have in now would be much better than adding additional speakers and having less power to push them. Just get a small 4chan amp or 2chan amp and power all your highs/mids from. Will make a ton of differance and would sound alot better than adding more to be powered from the HU

there are small footprint amps like that that would work well. and to answer yes you can have speakers ran off the deck and the amp, it just wont sound as good from the speakers hooked up to the deck.

Check the amp thread man.. tehre is some amps under 100$ with small footprints

Ok so I am better off amping my current speakers than just running extra ones from the head unit? And if I still wanted to add those extra speakers it would be best to go with 2 4 channel amps?

no can use only 1 4 channel and wire it down to 2 ohms each channel,look at the massive nano amps

Anything less expensive? I am looking to spend under $100 for the amp.

How does this look? Will I able able to hook up the 4 speakers I currently have in the Jeep plus 4 more on this single 4 channel amplifier? Sorry don't know much about car audio only the 2 horus I've spent researching online.

not if you want a decent small footprint amp,audiopipe makes some too ,but i here they get real hot and under the seat will not be good for the amp.i know your jeep real well ,i just built a box for a 12" woofer and wired it all up.

look on your local craigslist for a used amp, or on here. It can be done, 4ch for under $100.
