Okay, I just purchased a '94 Pontiac Grand Prix Coupe (70k miles) but all the speakers are blown out and sound horrible.

I have about $1,500 to spend on a new system. I was wondering if someone could take a look at this and give me feedback on it.

Will one Sub be enough...I want my car to bounce

Also, I won't have to get another battery will I?

Thanks for any help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

EDIt: links should now work

all the links are broken, but ill start ya off and say do some research and build a properly tuned box for the subs you pick out. one battery should be enough..id look into optima yellow top. as far as speakers, i love my SLC's in the kicks and sails

what kind of sound are you looking for? strictly SQ? or SQ with the ability to get loud? since you meantioned you want your car to "bounce" its not gonna happen, especially with one sub. But im assuming you like it loud, so from there, I would take a look at digital designs and stereo integrity, and feed them enough power.

with front speakers, i would definately not consider cheap coaxials, as you cannot reproduce nearly as many frequencies as a well built speaker can. definately buy enough wattage for these, or itll waste tons of potential (100 rms should be plenty) check out diamond audio, soundstream, memphis, and orion for amps

with rear speakers, i would run them very low power, as to not screw with the imaging, since its only rear fill. i can sell you some kenwood excelon 6x9s for about 75 shipped if your interested

and with head units, these are what create most of your sound. spend a good amount of money on a nicer head unit. Ive heard good things about pioneer, eclipse, kenwood, and of course mcintosh and the higher end models.

ya links dont work, just list the parts u were thinking of getting. I highly doubt ur car will bounce with subs tho, I belive they have hydro's for that. But please dont put hydrolics on a grand prix

ok, give me some details:
What size subs do you want?

Do you want sound quality or loudness?

Are you going to install yourself?

Can you install components?

Can you build your own box?

with $1,500 you can get a killer system.

I'm looking at a 12 inch Sub.

I would like quality but with enough thump to turn heads.

I do not have the experience to install myself, and am not considering components.

No I can not build my own box.

JUST GET SOME audiobahn 12's a pyramid amp and a dual headunit

PLUS get some roadmaster 6x9's

BTW I am not worried about the installation cost. I planned on paying 1500 for the system alone not including the install. I'de like to have dual subs in there but then I will require two amps to get the full power out of the subs?

Okay man, thanks a lot I appreciate it.

Acold 7, I'll check it out but for the last two weeks I've been looking into installation and it just seems overwhelming.

I planned on going to this auto store a few minutes away that specializes in Car audio/video.
