Hey all, joined the forum because I had a few questions and concerns about my system and future improvements to it.

I drive a 97 Yukon and recently redid its entire audio system, replaced the head unit, bought new speakers, an amp and a sub-

Head unit- http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ivLW9aG...H-P3100UB.html

Amp- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...h+P5000.5.html

front 6 1/2 speakers- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...cker+DS60.html

back 6x9 speakers- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...6930.html#tabs

sub- http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+TCE4512A.html

Its a pretty modest system, and also my first. Its sounds good, but my main problem with it is the speakers dont get loud enough for my liking, as the sub can completely drown them out when i have it loud. My amp Also gets VERY hot, it burns me if i press down on it after cranking it for about 20 mins, and it shuts down. Guessing my gain is to high.

I'm looking into buying a new amp to run in addition to my current one. i had my eyes on this one http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...h+P1800.4.html . I would be hooking my 4 main speakers up to it, so i can crank them without the amp overheating and shutting down, and as for my old amp id just keep my sub hooked up to it, and possibly tweeters.

That leads me to my next question though, im looking into buying some nice 3 way 6 1/2's for the front to replace my current ones, and if i did that would it still make sense for me to buy seperate tweeters?

Basically im just looking for some suggestions or corrections, as Im not to sure what would benifit my system the most, any help would be appreciated, and if it matters, I mainly listen to metal, rock/hardcore type stuff, and techno :p

thanks.

Forget 3 way coax's for sure. All you need is a good component set that will take around 100 rms, a 100x2 amp and you should be set,and set your gains with a dmm and test tones.

coax's aren't awful, I have 2 sets of rf power 6x8s at 75 watts each with a cadence txa3004 given them 75 watts and they get plenty loud. But even so. If you get comps you should be able to hear over the sub. i can with my coaxials. If you haven't already, amp your speakers and they will sound cleaner/louder w/o the clipping

well i was really looking to get a 4 channel amp, I know most people consider just two front speakers t be the best sound quality, but i like having 2 in the back anyway in addition to the front, cuz im wierd liek that :p, so I was really looking for a good 4 channel amp with 100-110ish rms that is no more than (or just a bit higher than, if it will be noticably better) $150

I hear crunch amps are no good? I found a nice crunch amp that looks liek its exactly what i need but i keep hearing not to buy crunch, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know
