New to Car audio forum, looking for help on first build

what are comps and coaxes? if i get the setup u were talking abuot Hintz i will most likely get it installed at a local shop people tell me to stay away from places liek circuit city or Best Buy, when i bring it to a store that specializes in car audio will they know how to put the setup u put together the same way u were talking about it? Or will i have to tell them like what exactly i want them to do? in terms of specifics to make like my sub sound good.

components and coaxials. Component speakers have separate midwoofers and tweeters, as well as an outboard crossover. This separates midrange and high sound frequencies and gives you a clearer, better sound. These are more difficult to install than coaxials, but offer a better sound.

Coaxials have the tweeter mounted ON the midwoofer and have a built-in crossover. This still separates the signals somewhat, but not as well as the outboard crossover units in a component set. This means that you won't get as clear of a sound out of most coaxials, but they are much simpler and easier to install.

The only thing you wold have to tell them would be how you want the enclosure built. Pretty simple. However, local shops will gouge you on the install. Some won't even do it unless you buy the stuff from them. Your best bet would be to look for someone on the forum who lives in your area to help you out. I'd say about 40% of the members here are from SoCal. You can definitely enlist some help for some pizza and beer.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but you will definitely want to do some sound deadening as well. The cheapest GOOD deadening I've found is Raamat, which is $120 a roll (which should easily cover your trunk and doors). You might have to extend your budget just a bit, but it will be worth it. If you can't stretch the finances, then some basic Peal'n'Seal from Lowe's will work as a cheap alternative.

How would i have the enclosure built? Hell i might as well ask some dudes to help me just install my system for some cash haha, discounts anyone?* haha The Stuff u listed is that the best price u could find or will i be able to easily find even better prices?

I would do something like 2 cubic feet ported to 32 Hz.

The prices are about the best you'll find new. You can't get that amp new from anyone but ED. I highly doubt you'll find that sub for less than that price new(especially with free shipping and warranty). The pioneer speakers are both at great prices( you MIGHT be able to find them for about ten bucks cheaper, but those prices are pretty bottom-line). And that HU is just the first good used one I found. You can look more if you want to, but that HU is a great deal.

In short, searching around for hours MIGHT save you $25 or so MAYBE. Not worth it if you ask me. All that stuff has been out for a while, and I have yet to see it any cheaper

That's not a bad deal at all, but there are a couple problems you have to think of if you go that route.

1. No Warranty

2. More woofers means more power, which means that you'd be faced with buying multiple amps again

3. One sub in a proper ported box will get almost as loud as two in a sealed box, but requires less power and costs less money.

You CAN find a decent 1000w mono and a decent 4-channel amp for about $200 apiece. However, you'd be buying used equipment to get these prices. Not a bad thing, but it's a decision you'll have to consider.

the links for that setup u put together earlier for the pioneer deck is that the only used product id be buying cuz i was thinking i could probably just find another deck probably even better for just as cheap im guessing? Is all the stuff new?

The deck is the only used piece in that list. And it's a pretty dang nice HU. If you can find an HU that's better than a Pioneer Premier for $100 shipped, you're definitely a lucky man. I don't really know what else you are looking for in a deck that that one can't give you. $100 is pretty cheap for a good HU.
