New to audio in general, stereo help!

Again let me start off by saying that I really went in this without knowing a lot about audio components, much less the companies reputations that make them. I pieced this system together over the last week for a new daily driver i'm getting (as soon as my **** current one sells!!), and just wanted to get some input from you guys from the stuff i bought. I haven't installed it yet, it will be going in in about a week. I realize that I didn't exactly go "all out", im just generally looking for the quality that I should expect from this.

Alpine CDA-9883 /w KCE422-i pod adapter

Eclipse XA1000

10" JL audio W3

4 guage EFX wires

(speakers??)

How is my setup so far? I'm worried that It may not produce enough bass, do you think the 10" subwoofer will be enough to make decent sound?

What kind of speaker components can you guys recommend for me? My daily will be an Audi A4 1.8t.

Ditch the EFX Wires, and go with Stinger Wiring, KnuKonceptz, Kicker, companies like this for wiring.

Eclipse Amps are definitely a good choice. May want to look around the classifieds for another amp that'll do the same wattage for a cheaper price, though IMO.

Good choice in headunit, you'll like it.

As for your sub choice, good SQ sub, but if you want loud, this won't do it. May want to stray away from JL because of the prices, other comparable subs can be had for much cheaper. But if you're stuck with the W3, you could probably find a used one for a decent price.

Look around the Speaker/Car Audio Review Thread for reviews on speakers that will fit your budget/what you're looking for when it comes to sound.

JL makes good products but so overpriced... you can easily find something compareable to them for far less...

you went with good brands...., not sure about the sub output, everyone likes different amounts of bass

I'd like to spend around $200-250 for speakers. I haven't looked into pricing on speaker amps, what's a decent unit to go along with my system?

I already have all of this equipment, so i'm probably going to give the JL a try. I've heard good things about the W3, but I hope that 10" JL will at least give me some kind of decent bass.
