messsed up situation.

ok my friend has a 2003 buick regal, hooking up a cd player in it today. we go to best buy to get a wiring harness. they hand us one and we leave. so we plug it in hook up the hot the start the ground and all the speakers and remote wire. that leaves the orange/white wire which says dimmer on it, the illumination which is all orange was not on the plug. so he turns his car on and he has no cluster lights, just lights at the p r n d 2 1.

im getting pissed. after mix matching some wires, they come on for like 2 mins. and shut off again. i checked every possible fuse. i tell him go home well fix it in the morning. he then goes on his way and gets pulled over for no tailights. waht the **** did i do wrong?

you did get the harness from best buy so chances are its wrong, and with a newer gm you never know what can get f'ed up

You need that 100 dollar harness I believe. And just because you bought it from best buy doesn't mean its wrong. Im sorry I know what harnesses go with which cars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif as well as speaker sizes and remote start immobilizer bypasses.

My friend just installed a HU into a 2000 caviler. He needed the $100+ Chime module in order for it to work correctly.
