New test..IA 20.1 vs. Kicker ZX2500.1 vs. Orion 2500D

Yes, even though it does less power for you...It should do more for us. Finally, we play in USACi...4ohm is everything.

Agreed...

Its does make tons of power for us and everyone else that uses it...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

@ 2.2 though...rise is a Biatch isnt it?
Since you are a USACi competitor I can see why you would choose the 20.1 over either the 2500d or the zx2500. I still can't believe that USACi continues to use the 4 ohm rating; its the most outdated class rating system.

Agreed, until that date though...I am stuck with it.

Want to put the 2500 up agains the 40.1? We should have one next week I believe.

A little stacked tword the 40, but it might be fun. 2 2500's maybe?

If we could get our hands on one, i'd love to try one out.

But seeing other people's tests of the 20.1's and their power estimates and then testing the amps ourselves, I wouldn't necessarily trust other people's tests of the 40.1's.

The only real way to know which amp is better for a specific setup is to try it out in that setup.

Drive to Dallas or come to USACi finals?

So it turns out that the zx2500.1 brought down the orion as well as the 20.1. All you hear is how the 20.1 can do .25 and .0825, but it's not necessary for daily driving. It's about time somebody actually tested these amps and brought them on the forum. I bet you won't hear 20.1s for the next few weeks just because of this test.......

THANK YOU!!!!! Ended the frickin "20.1 IS AMAZING!!!" hype....But it is an 1800RMS amp isnt it.

ALSO sooo your saying the kicker 2500 couldnt do 2500 at its reccomended load..... I swear the 2500D has put out over 2500 @.5. I just think i've seen someone post somewhere around that number before....probably birth sheet??

But here's the thing....WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT OHM LOAD?!?!Does it make you happy that you can wire a 20.1 to .00001 ohm and have it play, even though it does LESS power than another amp at a higher ohm load?

Your logic makes no sense. I don't understand the fascination with wiring an amp to a ridiculous ohm load. I could understand it if the 20.1 did tons of power, BUT IT DOESN'T. At least not in this setup.

And lest you forget, we wired the kicker down to .25 ohms and had it play.
I run a pair of 20.1's strapped. That reduces the already low ohm load by 2. For daily driving is one thing, for competing in an org that amp ratings don't matter, fine. BUT USACi, as outdated as you call it, still uses the 4 ohm rating of an amp. The more power I can get out of my '450 watts' the better. The 20.1 is the best choice I can make in MY setup. I back the IA amps, but I'm not saying the other are bad in any way, that would be childish.

IMO, If you have to drive around w/1800 watts or more for daily, I think you're a iretard and headed for hearing damage or you don't know how to build a decent box.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif For daily I have to take measures to reduce the sub level past flat sub output, gains at min, 1 RCA plugged in wired up to 3 ohms, etc.
