New test..IA 20.1 vs. Kicker ZX2500.1 vs. Orion 2500D

Ok so let me get this straight.

The ZX is rated to do 2500 at 2 ohms, it did just that. Pretty impressive:rolleyes:

And the 20.1 did its rated power at double the load. Oh yea this amp really sucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I guess it really does come down to install, and what load you NEED. You guys are really comparing apples to oranges.

The zx did more power rising up to 8 OHMS!

The bottom line is that the zx did more power and sucked LESS current than the 20.1.

Ok, now go compare two amps the are rated to do the same power at the same load //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

No need to get an attitude.

What about a pair of sundown 1500d's doing 5kw strapped while i've heard of a strapped pair of 20.1's only doing 3500? You and I both know that people claim well over 2kw out of a 20.1, so why isn't a 20.1 vs. a zx2500 a fair battle?

I notice you run a 20.1. Does your attitude have anything to do with that?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

hahaha ive had first hand experience with BOTH amps. i had 20.1's.....for a week....

they sucked a buttload of current and to get any kind of decent power out of it i had to wire it to .25...in which it did 2300 watts. AT .25! the 20.1 was 83% efficient for me also....

whereas the zx2500.1 did 2100 watts @ 1 ohm..while being 90% efficient and drawing WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY less current.

the 20.1 aint no joke....on 16v @ .25 possibly.

I got no attitude, but you guys are seriously comparing apples to oranges.
I'd have to disagree quite frankly.

People have been saying forever that the 20.1 will do much more than rated power, sometimes almost 3kw. People told us that we'd see a gain using 20.1's over the orion 2500d's.

So we thought it was a more than fair comparison.

I noticed that people who have their own agenda claim alot of things.

And the only way to find out is to try it for yourself.

Bottom line, IA 20.1 is rated at 1800 at 1 ohm. It does its rated power at 2 ohms, pretty good if you ask me.

The ZX is rated for 2500 at 2 ohm and it does that, thats great too. But for the price tag, it better be a hellofalot better than the 20.1

They tested amps, quit being a dipshit and get over it.

I have two 2005 15" L5s and im looking to get a new kicker amp soon. My subs are dual 4 ohm so I really need a 1 ohm stable amp. However I'm reading a lot on the zx series running at 1 ohm daily?

I am looking mostly at the following amps:

ZX1500.1

KX1200.1

Wouldn't the ZX2500 be overkill for two 05 L5s?

Do you think I would be safe getting the ZX1500.1 and running it hard every day at 1 ohm? Or do you think i should get the SX1250.1? Thanks.

If they are just gonna go by rated power....why even do a test? Just go with whatever manufactures rates highest.

I guess you wanna see a "1800 watt" pyramid vs the 20.1? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Sure if you are paying $1400 for a zx2500. I bet no one on here paid anywhere near that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.
