I just ordered two 12 inch type r subs and a jbl 1200.1 amp. The subs are 4 ohm dvc, can i get a two ohm load from that? Also, is 4 gauge wire good for my system?

4 gauge will be fine

dual 4 ohm subs= 2 or 8 ohm a piece. 2 dual 4 ohm subs= 1 or 4 ohm. wire them in 1 ohm that amp will run that night and day and not change the power output.

the guy at the shop said that if I wanted to, I could get a 1200.1 for each sub. That seems like alot of watts for those subs.

you could do that but i wouldn't. i believe taylor is running something like 1000watts rms to his type r 15" i wouldn't do it though. keep 1 you'll be plenty happy with that much power.
